Amazing Bacon Brownies – You Gotta Try Them

There’s no better combination of flavors than sweet and savory, and for that reason we’ve decided to pair two of our favorite sweet and salty snacks to create the perfect dessert: chocolate and bacon. These brownies are to die for, you definitely won’t want to miss this recipe that will have your taste buds shouting for more.

Ingredients

¼ pound of bacon
2 tablespoons honey
½ cup butter (melted)
1 cup light brown sugar
¼ cup white sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 eggs, beaten
¾ cup all purpose flour
½ cup cocoa powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
¼ cup powdered sugar

Instructions

Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees. Next, grease your 9×13 inch baking dish and set it aside.

Start preparing the bacon by frying it in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy, roughly 5-10 minutes, flipping 2-3 times. When the bacon is done, remove the skillet from the heat, add in your honey, and stir around the large pieces until the foam and bubbles from the grease subside. It’s okay if the bacon breaks up a bit as it gets coated in the honey. Remove the honey coated bacon from the grease, place on a plate, and allow it to cool. Once it has sufficiently cooled, use your hands to crumble the bacon into small, dime-sized pieces. Set the pieces aside as you prepare your batter.

In a large mixing bowl, dump your melted butter, brown sugar, white sugar, and vanilla extract, combine sufficiently, and then slowly beat in the eggs.

In a completely separate bowl, add your dry ingredients together: flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Once thoroughly combined, add the dry ingredients to the egg batter mixture, and slowly beat in until thoroughly combined. Slowly fold in the chocolate chips, and then slowly fold in the bacon bits.

Pour the bacon brownie batter into the greased dish, and distribute evenly with a spatula. Bake in the oven for roughly 25 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center of the brownies comes out without crumbs. Sprinkle the powdered sugar on the top of the brownies, and allow to cool before cutting and serving. Enjoy with a tall glass of milk!
